Venue Description:

Scala Venue offers level access throughout the premises, including a lift and accessible restrooms. Assistance dogs are welcome, and we appreciate advance notice if you plan to attend with one.

Bookable Access Facilities / Personal Assistant Ticket

We provide one complimentary Personal Assistant pass per ticket holder. PAs should be capable of assisting the person they accompany in case of an emergency. After purchasing a ticket, send us your order number from your confirmation email, and we'll arrange the complementary PA ticket. We require evidence for the PA ticket issuance, such as:

  • DLA/PIP letter (dated within the last 12 months)
  • Attendance Allowance Letter
  • War Disablement Pension
  • Evidence of being registered as severely sight impaired
  • Recognized Assistance dog ID card
  • Access card

We understand that not everyone with access needs may possess the above evidence. If you don't have any of these documents but require access provisions, please email us at access@scala.wales and explain your needs.

Viewing Area/Platforms

Please inform us in advance if you require a seat to ensure we accommodate your needs. Unfortunately, Scala Venue does not have any dedicated viewing platforms. However, our staff are always eager to help in any way possible to make your experience enjoyable.

Toilets

Scala Venue has two accessible toilets: one on the ground floor near the entrance and another on the first floor, 30m from the viewing area.

Arrival Guide Box Office

Upon arrival at the box office, a staff member will greet you and check you in. If you're collecting a Personal Assistant ticket, please have your tickets ready for inspection and inform the staff member about the arrangement. Guests requiring a seat will receive a wristband from security and be guided to an appropriate area (either via stairs or lift, as needed). A security member will be stationed at the entrance to the area throughout the event.

Early Entrance Upon Request

If your accessibility requirements necessitate early entrance to the venue, please contact us at access@scala.wales to discuss arrangements.

Customers with Medical Requirements

We welcome guests who need to bring medications, food, drink, or medical equipment to manage a medical condition. We can potentially store medication in a refrigerator upon request. Please contact us in advance if you need to bring any such items. If an emergency occurs during an event, please approach the nearest staff member for assistance.

Access to Performance

Currently, Scala Venue does not have a hearing induction loop, but we are exploring options to install one. We do not offer assisted performance options at this time, but we are actively considering them for the future. Our upstairs bar features a lowered section near the viewing area, and our staff are always eager to help in any way possible.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs into the venue and can provide a bowl of water if needed. However, not all events may be suitable for assistance dogs, so please contact us beforehand. We may be able to arrange a designated area for your dog during the event, but please get in touch to discuss further.

Strobe Lighting

Lighting varies depending on the event. Signs will be posted at the venue during events that feature strobe lighting. Please contact us in advance, and we will inform you if strobe lighting will be used during a performance. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us at access@scala.wales.
